The seamless travel card introduced in Mumbai on the lines of London's Oyster card is finally taking shape.
An Oyster Card is an electronic pre-paid card that gives a commuter access to all forms of public transport in London.
Called 'Go Mumbai' card in Mumbai, today the card can be used on both the suburban railways and the BEST.

The New South Wales Transport Minister David Campbell has rejected claims that the new MyZone ticketing system will be a disaster for private bus users.
MyZone ticketing begins next month and for the first time private bus users will be able to use travel ten tickets.
However private buses are not fitted with dip machines used to validate the tickets.

Metro is asking you to weigh in on proposals to close a $189 million budget gap.
Metro says the deficit is mostly because of increased expenses and revenue losses since less people rode the trains that was expected.
Metro has developed a list of proposals to close the gap and wants to get feedback on what riders want.

The Piedmont Authority for Regional Transportation will build a park-and-ride lot on N.C. 87 this year.
PART signed a joint-use agreement with the N.C. Department of Transportation earlier this month to use the property at 824 S. Main St. in Graham as a parking lot for bus passengers.
The property was formerly the DOT district engineer's office.

He lived with her and she says that police tell her he may have taken off after the shooter when the man took his new touch-screen cell phone.
Authorities charged 20-year-old Broderick Smith Thursday with murder.
Vonda Smith says her son told her the shooting wasn't deliberate.

Metro says thefts of electronic devices are on the rise, and the transit agency is urging riders to keep phones and music players concealed.
There were 894 reports of robberies in the transit system in 2009 - an increase of more than 50 percent from the year before.
Metro officials say that in one typical scenario, thieves spot riders who are sitting or standing near train doors with phones or music players in their hands.

It is estimated that an underground parking space in New York City costs between $30,000 and $50,000.
Even at the lower estimate, that's $50 million dollars that the developer plans to spend building underground parking.
What if instead of providing so much parking, the developer only built half of the parking and diverted the rest of the money to improving transit service?

For the first time, Nicollet Mall in downtown Minneapolis is now open to bicycles any time of the day, every day of the week.
The change took effect Saturday morning.
In the past, bikes couldn't pedal down the pedestrian mall and bus route on weekdays between 6 a.m. and 6 p.m.
But transit improvements on nearby Marquette and 2nd Avenues have created room for more bus traffic on those streets, making it possible to move express buses off Nicollet Mall. A few buses serving local routes will still use Ni

Aaron Ham doesn't know what he's going to do come April 24.
That's when Metro Area Transit's Route 17 bus will make its last stop in front of the former Southroads Mall in Bellevue.
It's one of a handful of changes coming to MAT bus service.
